| March | 5 - 7 | 3 - 5 | Folk'n'Ale Weekend | Shake off the Winter with this Folk and Real Ale Festival. A selection of the best in traditional folk music on Friday evening, Saturday lunchtime and evening. Sunday free jamming session. Bring your own instruments. |
| April | 10-11 | 8 - 9 | World Mountain Bike Bog Snorkelling | An unique event in prepared bog on the town outskirts, sponsored by GT Cycles. Competitors swim 2 lengths of a channel on a specially adapted mountain bike. Wet suits are recommended. |
| June | 12 | 10 | Man v Horse Marathon | A race over 22 miles of the Welsh hills where runner and horse compete against each other. Sponsored by William Hill. Cash prize for first runner to beat the horse. Closest was 1984 when it was 4 minutes. |
| June | 19 | 17 | Drovers Walk | Follow the Drover's routes of old who used them to drive cattle, sheep, and geese to the markets of England. Choice of 10, 15, 25 miles. an old Drovers inn opened each year for the day. |
| July | 2-4 | 30-2 | Morris in the Forest | Morris Dancers arrive in the town to entertain each other, locals, and visitors. A walk is arranged each year with a half-way stop for dancing and beer, where everyone can join in. Ceileidhs in the evenings. Sunday a street procession of Dancers. Everyone welcome. |

| August | 5 - 8 | 4 - 6 | Mountain Bike Festival | 4 days of mountain bike activities including family rides, skills course, orienteering event, night rides. |
| August | 30 | 28 | World Bog Snorkelling Championship | A channel 60 feet long has been dug in a bog for this event. Participants swim two lengths with flippers and snorkel. many prizes and large media coverage. Have your moment of fame. |
| September | 14-17 | 12-15 | Welsh International 4-Day walks | Visitors from all over the world take part. Choice of 10, 15, 25 miles each day on waymarked routes. Evening entertainment. |
| October | 14-17 | 12-15 | Welsh International Cycle Rides | Choice of 15, 25, 40 miles off-road routes each day. Entertainment in the evenings. |
| November | 12-21 | 10-19 | Beer Festival | Around 30/40 ales at each of the town's Inns. Entertainment laid on at each venue nightly. |
